SECTION 4: SLEEP AND REST
(“HARD DAY’S NIGHT” – The Beatles)
- PAOLA: Ok, let’s discuss sleep. How important is
it for teenagers, and how much should they aim for? - HUGO CALSO: Sleep is crucial for overall health
and well-being, especially during adolescence. I think it is as important
as eating because not getting enough sleep can cause a lot of tiredness
and that is bad for teenagers. I think eight hours is fine, because after
eight hours your body is already rested. - ANDREA: Any tips for improving sleep quality?
- ALBERTO: First, you should establish a consistent
bedtime routine. If you want, you can drink a cup of hot milk or you can
have a light dinner. Keep your phone away from you and turn off your
devices and your bedside lamp.
SECTION 5: HYDRATION
HABITS
(“UNWRITTEN”
– Natasha Bedingfield)
• ANDREA AND PAOLA: Staying hydrated is essential for overall health. How much water should
teenagers drink daily, and what are some practical tips for maintaining
hydration throughout the day?
• ESTHER:
Teenagers should aim to drink around 8-10 cups of water per day, but this can
vary depending on factors like activity level and climate. It’s helpful to
carry a reusable water bottle and sip on water regularly, especially during and
after physical activity.
SECTION 6:
BALANCED SCREEN TIME
(“DISCONNECT” – Clean
Bandit feat. Marina and the Diamonds)
• PAOLA AND ANDREA:
With the prevalence of screens in teenagers’ lives, finding a balance between
technology use and other activities is crucial. How can teens manage their
screen time effectively?
•RAÚL: It’s
important for teens to set boundaries around screen time and prioritize offline
activities like hobbies, exercise, and spending time with friends and family.
Setting screen-free zones in the bedroom can also promote better sleep hygiene.
SECTION 7:
HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS
(“DON’T GO
BREAKING MY HEART” – Elton John feat. Kiki Dee)
• PAOLA AND ANDREA:
Cultivating healthy relationships is an important aspect of overall well-being.
What advice do you have for teenagers navigating friendships and romantic relationships?
• DAVID:
It’s essential for teens to establish boundaries, communicate openly and
respectfully. Surrounding oneself with positive influences and recognizing red
flags in toxic relationships is crucial for maintaining emotional health.
